Issues and Strategies







Issues

1) How to cover all syllabus within 36 weeks using direct instruction?

2) Does it effective to use all the elements of direct instruction in teaching the subject matter?

3) Should the teacher select appropriate elements of direct instruction to teach the students?

4) How to make the subject matter and learning process interesting?

5) How the teacher tackle the individual differences in learning process?



Strategies

1) Interview teacher.

2) Ask the students' expectation on class activities and learning outcome through out the
school year.

3) Assess the students' personality learning approach at the beginning of class.

First task: Evaluation: Direct Instruction

Evaluation:
Monday- Review the last week lesson, tell the student what they will be learning on
subject matter as well as the objective.

Tuesday & Wednesday- Present new material in order to make sure the student understand the
main point

Thursday- Conduct independent project, papers, debates and media project

Friday - Quiz and Discussion

Strength

  1. He well planned of the direct instruction
  2. Covers all aspect of teachnig method in order to make the student understand well the subject matter
  3. Teacher assess the student through the quiz whether they understand or not.

Weakness

  1. Activities overload for students
  2. Could not cover all syllabus in 36 weeks.
  3. Student are tired and bored about the subject matter.
